Marcus Troy. A man who is everything his blog is not. He is more than just a blogger, but is a creative man, a cultural participant. Marcus is viewed as a curator and a maverick, setting new bars, taking the internet to a whole new level.
Marcus and the Project Global Trade show gave me the oppurtunity to be part of the “Blogger Project” this past week in New York, live blogging the happenings within the walls of 82 Mercer. Being that I write for him over at TheCombined.com and also at Project, one would think I’m close to him, but really I don’t think I know much about the man. All I know for sure is that he is one of, if not the most humblest guy I’ve ever came in contact with. He takes time to talk to you, ask questions and really get to know you.
I’ve observed him for the past 3 days and really got to take in what he had to offer. I remember after Monday’s show we headed to SoHo Grand before going to our Dell dinner, Marcus and I had a chance to talk.. this was fuckin’ golden. I was in a place where thousands of his Twitter followers would’ve loved to be in, one on one picking his brain, learning from one of the most influential personnel in the fashion industry and I will never, ever forget the one thing he told me. ”Who are you when the internet is down?”. ”Will these brands, people or public relations give a fuck who you are anymore? Ignorant people worry or care about your stats and traffic numbers, but the people who are smarter care about the person behind the blog. Work on your personality before anything else because I am what my blog is not”.
Please like and re-blog for this is more than just a photo.
